Uh-oh

I've heard that Buddleia can be invasive. I've even seen it - in England they are growing everywhere along the rail ways, on top of abandoned buildings, in cracks in the sidewalk.

It's not something I've seen in my local woods or my own garden.

Until now. Time to reconsider my obsession with Buddleia because there is no way I can keep my 5 shrubs deadheaded.

Dammit.

  1. Diana this happened to me....and I literally had thousands of seedlings everywhere and over a hundred just growing through the bricks of my patio. After 4 years of removing them, I still find seedlings...I have turned my obsession to veg gardening, other plants especially local natives and the bees, hummers and butterflies like them even more. Good luck!

    1. Ugh. I really don't want to get rid of my buddleia. I know some cultivars are less likely to re-seed, I'm going to look into that so I can, hopefully, still have some. I find buddleia to be the best attractants for certain types of pollinators (like hummingbird moths) and I'd hate to loose them.
